Hey everyone- hope ur all well and have ad good holidays.
I dont know how many of you remember but i spoke last year about putting together a play or scenes from a play within the society that would raise awareness of LGBT related issues. WELL- ive had a read of a few plays and things since then cos i wanted to get a better idea of what was out there and what would be suitable for us and id really like to go with The Laramie Project- if ppl are still interested.
Its been made into a film aswel which some of you may have seen- its a true story about the homophobic murder of a young man in Laramie, a small town in 'cowboy country' in America. But its not all doom and gloom as you might think, it is at times quite inspiring, to see how the community came together to tackle the views on homosexuality that had become embedded in their way of life.
Anyways- even if your not interested in taking part i recommend u av a read of this- or track down the film to watch. Its realy good.
And for those of you that wanna be involved then get in touch with me asap cos im itching to get on with this. You dont have to be an amazing actor, the beauty of this play is that its got quite a documentary style so nobody is gonna be called upon for an oscar winning performance. There are lots of parts but these can be divided up quite easily, as its written to be multi-roled.
so yeah, enough babble. Any questions email or facebook me
